In this section we set out the programs and options available within the Department of Classics, and we spell out the Department's requirements for the various degrees. Please note, however, that the Graduate School of the University also has requirements of its own, largely regarding residency, registration, and application for candidacy for a degree. We will try to call these to your attention, but ultimately it is the student's responsibility to see that all such requirements are satisfied. All students should therefore read carefully both the Record of the Graduate School and the Graduate School Handbook; which are available online. In these you should pay special attention to the calendar of deadlines, the account of degree requirements, and the statement of general regulations.
