Catherine is a seventh-year PhD candidate in the Department of Classics. She received her AB in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College in 2010 and a MA in Classical Archaeology from UNC in 2012. She is currently working on a dissertation investigating the development of settlements on Crete during the Protogeometric and Geometric periods. She has excavated at a number of Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age sites on the Greek mainland and on Crete. She currently works at the sites of Azoria and Anavlochos in East Crete.
