On Saturday, 6 November 2022, the Orange County Historical Museum is organizing a program on Preston H. Epps, the long-time Classics professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Featuring remarks from Preston Mitchell, Epps’ grandson and author of the book, “Preston H. Epps, A North Carolina Classic,” the event will reflect on Epps’ life and legacy and connect this to recent historical and outreach work being conducted by the Orange County Historical Museum.
The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 3 PM in Murphey Hall Room 104, and will conclude with a reception of food from Mediterranean Deli.
To register for the program (recommended for those who plan to attend in person, required to participate remotely via Zoom), please visit the Orange County Historical Museum’s events page.
The Classics Department website also hosts a page with information on Epps’ contributions to Classical scholarship and the UNC community.
