Archaeological Institute of America
AIA co-sponsors an annual conference with the APA, and provides professional job listings through its online Career Center. Also, AIA disseminates information regarding fieldwork opportunities. Apply for membership online.

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South
CAMWS is a professional organization for instructors of Latin and Greek at all levels. The organization also hosts an annual meeting which many of our faculty and students participate in and provides great networking opportunities. Discounted memberships are available for students.

Lambda Classical Caucus
LCC is a scholarly and political collection of Classicists dedicated to promoting “research that reflects the personal and intellectual interests of queer scholars, and provide a bridge between Classics and the interdisciplinary fields of LGBT/Queer Studies, the history of sexuality, cultural studies, and gender theory.” It’s members consist of queer Classicists and their supporters. Although LCC is an affiliate of the APA, membership to the APA is not required in order to join. Moreover, membership for students is free.

Society for Classical Studies
The SCS (formally known as the American Philological Association (APA)), consisting primarily of philologists, co-sponsors with the Archaeological Institute of America an annual conference attended by many Classicists, and runs placement service listing positions in all areas of Classics. The Women’s Classical Caucus
Founded in 1972, the WCC aims “to foster feminist and gender-informed perspectives in the study and teaching of all aspects of ancient Mediterranean cultures and classical antiquity.” If you are interested in this burgeoning field, it would be good to join — a student’s first year of membership is free.
