Eben Alexander Prize in Greek

The exam for the Eben Alexander Prize in Greek will be 6-8 p.m. Mon., Feb. 16 in Murphey 304.  Students intending to take this exam should sign-up with Kim Miles in the Department Office 212 Murphey Hall or email her at kmilesATemailDOTuncDOTedu. Students must provide their own blue books and pens or pencils for the exam.

Established in 1887, this award is bestowed yearly by the family of the late Dr. Eben Alexander, Sr.  A prize of $500 is presented to the undergraduate student who, in the opinion of the faculty of the Department of Classics, presents the best rendering into English of selected passages of Greek not previously read. The check is presented at the Chancellor’s Award Ceremony in April.
