Graduate School Awards

The Graduate School offers awards to recognize outstanding students, including the Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award, the Impact and Horizon Awards, and the Boka W. Hadzija Award for Distinguished University Service. See the Graduate School Award page for more information on these awards.

Tanner Award Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching

Originally only offered to faculty, this award was expanded to include graduate students. It is given to nominated graduate teaching assistants to recognize their excellence in teaching undergraduate students, particularly first-years and sophomores. Recipients are awarded with a $5,000 stipend and a framed citation. For more information, see the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence website.
