PhD student Kelly McArdle has a new column published in online journal Eidolon. Eidolon describes itself as “making the classics political and personal, feminist and fun.” It publishes pieces about the ancient and modern world, pedagogy, pop culture, culture only classicists care about, issues in the field, and further topics.

An excerpt from “The Art of Resistance; Rereading Ovid in the Wake of Silent Sam”:
While I examined Ovid’s treatments of mythical brutalized bodies, activists were outside asking the university to confront its own brutalization of black bodies: brutalization not in the abstract, but brutalization that was real; brutalization that was deadly.”
