February 11, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The exam for the Albert Suskin Prize in Latin will be 5-7 p.m. Wed., Feb. 11 in Murphey 304. Students intending to take this exam should sign-up with Kim Miles in the Department Office 212 Murphey Hall or email her at kmilesATemailDOTuncDOTedu. Students must provide their own blue books and pens or pencils for the exam, which consists of translation and a short essay.

Established in 1966, a prize of $1,000 is offered to the undergraduate student who shows the best ability to understand Latin poetry and to translate selected passages at sight. The award is in memory of Albert I. Suskin, professor of Latin and chairman of the department until his death in 1965, and was established in his memory by his colleagues and friends. The check is presented at the Chancellor’s Award Ceremony in April.
