Herington Competition and open poetry reading

The department will host its annual poetry reading 5-6:30 p.m. Fri., Oct. 24 in Murphey 104. The undergraduate competition for the Herington Poetry Prize will kick off the event. Winners of the Greek and Latin contests will win $250. Participants are not required to memorize the passages, and previous winners are not eligible to compete.

After the winners are announced, there will be an open reading during which anyone can share a recitation. A light reception will follow in the common room.
